Scope and Contents

From the Series:

The Forward Movement of the Reformed Church in the United States was inaugurated by the General Synod of the Reformed Church in the United States at a meeting held at Altoona, PA, March 6, 1919. The Forward Movement was active from 1919 to 1926. This collection includes glass slides highlighting the campaign, images from missionary trips in Asia, and of colleges that were or still affiliated with the Reformed Church in the United States.

Description

A map of China with statistics comparing healthcare access and infrastructure to that of New York City. Text reads, "China: 1000 - trained doctors, Chinese and American, minister to the physical needs of the 400,000,000 people of China. Travel conditions are exceedingly poor."

Below this is an insert map of New York City and the text reads, " New York City: 7921 - physicians and surgeons serve the 7,500,000 inhabitants of the Metropolitan Area about New York City. Automobiles supplement Railroads, Subways, Elevated trains, and Surface Cars."
