The Forward Movement of the Reformed Church in the United States was inaugurated by the General Synod of the Reformed Church in the United States at a meeting held at Altoona, PA, March 6, 1919. The Forward Movement was active from 1919 to 1926. This collection includes glass slides highlighting the campaign, images from missionary trips in Asia, and of colleges that were or still affiliated with the Reformed Church in the United States.

Description

An image of a building that the Reformed Church wanted to build as a headquarters space. The text reads, "Reformed Church Building, Headquarters of the Boards. Present building too small every board crowded for space. Board of Ministerial Relief, other agencies making application, work of all boards greatly handicapped. Lot purchased - 120x140ft with light on four sides. 1 block from New Parkway and from Broad St. Station. Need $200,000 to finance the project."
