Biographical / Historical

Third Reformed Church in Baltimore traces its inception to 1843, a few years after the Sunday School declared its independence from Second Street First Reformed. During the 1850s, the church purchased a pipe organ and a pulpit recess was added in 1859. Organized in 1872, the Mission Sunday School declared its independence in 1878 and formed St. Paul's Reformed Church. Third Reformed Church underwent renovations in 1880 and again in 1906 and 1908. In 1923, the old church building located at Paca and Saratoga Streets was sold and work began on the new church building, which included an auditorium, an education building, and a parsonage. In 1947 Third Reformed merged with St. Paul's Reformed to form Park Community E&R Church. Pastors of this church include: Bernard C. Wolf Andrew Peter Freese J. S. Foulk D. Gans Conrad Clever Clayton H. Ranck James Riley Bergey
