First Reformed Church (Royersford, PA)

The congregation was organized in 1891 by a committee from Goshenhoppen Classis at a meeting in Rockford Hall. A church was erected in 1892 which later became the Church School Building. The Ladies Aid Society purchased additional land around the corner of 4th Ave. and Washington Street. A new church was built and dedicated in 1929 under the pastorate of Rev. A. O. Bartholomew. A stone parsonage was constructed adjacent to the church in 1957. That same year in a progressive move, the congregation passed a resolution that at least two women should be part of the consistory. The church was noted within the community for its Carillonic and Harz Bells. Each evening at 6:00pm the bells were played by young people of the church for many decades. In 1966, Westminster Chimes and Hour Strike were added to the Carillon as a result of a memorial gift to the church.
