Biographical / Historical
Even though the Coplay Charge is not listed as part of the Lehigh Synod until 1902, the records from Trinity Reformed Church date back to 1871. The congregation began with 35 members with Rev. S. A. Leinbach as the pastor. When William Hofford was appointed pastor of the Egypt Charge in 1884 it included the congregation at Coplay which was a borough six miles northwest of Allentown. In 1872 the Board of Directors of the Lehigh Valley iron Company provided land and money to build the first church. The congregation was chartered in 1892.
