Biographical / Historical

In 1884 a new congregation formed in a small chapel. As the congregation grew, the need for a larger building was evident. The new church was built in 1895. As this church began to grow and prosper, the surrounding community did as well. The decision to build on a more satisfactory location was made and by 1928 a beautiful house of worship was dedicated. St. John's United Church of Christ and Grace United Church of Christ decided on October 30, 1983 to merge the two congregations to form Grace St. John's United Church of Christ.
