Biographical / Historical

Christ's Reformed Church began in 1853 after a group of Reformed members and Lutherans split from the Zion Church to form a new congregation where they could hold services in German. The dedication of the original Christ's Church building took place in 1855. In 1871 the entire Lutheran membership formally withdrew. A new church building was built in 1894. Then, the church was remodeled in 1937. The parish house was renovated for Sunday School in 1955. Three years later, in July of 1959, the Salem Church officially separated from Christ's Church. Further renovations were done in 1958-1969.
