Biographical / Historical

The Peace United came into being as the Moden Krick in 1725, but the first church building would not be erected until 1731. The community Lutherans, shared the building with them and united with the church in 1761. The Reformed congregation lasted for more than two hundred and thirty years and finally died in giving birth to the new Peace United Community Church of Christ in 1968. The Swamp United Church of Christ withdrew from the Muddy Creek Charge on September 17, 1961. In 1964 the Muddy Creek UCC became engaged in the activity which eventually led to the merger with the St. Paul's congregation in 1966. The New church building was dedicated in 1970.
