Biographical / Historical

In response to a formal petition signed by 19 people calling for a Reformed Congregation in Lititz, St. Luke's Reformed Church was organized in December 1907 and services were held in Brobst Hall, later known as Malta Lodge Hall. A formal charter, however, was not signed until August of 1908 and the church was dedicated in 1911. The congregation united with Zion Congregation of Brickerville and Jerusalem Congregation of Penryn, forming the Warwick Charge, which lasted until 1958, at which time, St. Luke's called their first full-time pastor. In 1957, St. Luke's became St. Luke's United Church of Christ. A new church structure was dedicated in 1968.
