Biographical / Historical
Zion's Reformed Church was established in 1771 after the arrival of Jacob Weimer, its first pastor, in December 1770. At the time, the area was known as Elisabeth Town. A church was begun in 1774, but was not completed until after the Revolution. In 1784 the congregation built a stone church and laid out a cemetery.
