Biographical / Historical

Wilhelm Charge was organized in 1893 to include St. Paul's Wilhelm Church, Meyersdale, Pennsylvania and St. John's Church, Grantsville, MD. In 1893 Paradise Charge and the Grantsville, MD Charge were split in order to include one Pennsylvania and one Maryland congregation in each Charge. Paradise Charge became St. John's, Salisbury, PA and Trinity, New Germany, MD. The other Charge became the Wilhelm Charge and included St. Paul's Wilhelm, Meyersdale, PA and St. John's, Grantsville, MD. In 1969 St. Paul's Wilhelm was joined with Amity, Meyersdale, PA to become the Amity-Wilhelm Charge. St. Paul's left the United Church of Christ to become independent in 2005.
