Biographical / Historical
The building was originally built as a Union church for the Reformed, Lutheran and Moravian denominations. In 1903 the Moravian's gave up their legal claim, and in 1907 the Lutherans built a church of their own. The cemetery remained a union arrangement between the Lutheran and Reformed congregations. The church has had the following names: Union Church of Bushkill Township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania; nicknamed Henry's Church; The Evangelical and Reformed Church, Belfast, Pennsylvania; and St. Luke's United Church of Christ. The Sunday School Building was built and opened in October 1970, with a dedication held in April, 1971.
