Biographical / Historical
St. Luke's Reformed Church of Dublin, PA was organized July 11, 1869 at a meeting held on the former Huddle property a short distance from Dublin. Services were conducted by the Rev. William R. Yearick. Charter members came from Tohickon and Hilltown Churches. In 1870 the consistory petitioned Goshenhoppen Classis to connect the congregation with Hilltown Charge. In that same year two acres of land were purchased from Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Derstine and a brick church was built. In 1881 St. Luke's was joined to the Hilltown Charge by Tohickon Classis. St. Luke's Reformed and Lutheran Church built a new church in 1892. In 1931 a parsonage was erected by the Charge. At their own expense, the Lutheran congregation built an addition to the church and rebuilt the Chancel in 1941. In 1961 the Lutheran congregation moved to its own building, ending the 91-year union. As of July 1, 1968 St. Luke's UCC was allowed to separate from the Hilltown Charge and obtain its own minister.
