Biographical / Historical

In 1840 a German Evangelical Minister, Pastor Horn came to Toledo and gathered all the German speaking people irregardless of their church affiliations. In the beginning there were about 40 members and services were held in parishioner's homes. The church was organized in 1843 under the name Salem Evangelical Lutheran and Reformed and a building was built in 1844. This church closed October 26, 2003.

The Lutheran branch of the church still exists as Salem Lutheran Church.
