The Reuben Edwin Kutz collection contains a large, oversized book containing original pastoral records including; Deaths (1920-1966) Baptisms (1920-1965) Marriages (1920-1966) and Confirmation records (1921-1965). In the back of the volume, Rev. Kutz has a brief family genealogy.

Biographical / Historical

Rev. Kutz was born to Jonathan and Emmaline (Stout) Kutz on September 21, 1892 in Summit Hill, Pennsylvania. He attended the Theological Seminary at Lancaster (now Lancaster Theological Seminary). He was ordained July 9, 1920 by the West Susquehanna Classis. On November 24, 1920 he married Anna Hilda Martin. They had one daughter, Anna Emyline Kutz. Rev. Kutz served three charges: Rebersburg Charge, Rebersburg, PA. July 9, 1920 until December 1, 1921; First Reformed, Plymouth, PA. July 9, 1920 until April 1, 1922; and Towamensing Charge, Bowmanstown, PA. 1924 -1958. In December of 1959, he was elected Pastor Emeritus of the Towamensing Reformed Parish. He was elected President of East Pennsylvania Classis of the Eastern Synod on January 26, 1931 and served until February 2, 1932. He was also a Mason and a Shriner.
