Biographical / Historical
Bethany Orphans' Home opened on September 21, 1863 in Southwark, Philadelphia as the Orphan's Home of Shepherd of the Lambs. It was moved to Bridesburg July 13, 1864, and finally to Womelsdorf in 1867. In 1873 the name was changed to Bethany Orphans' Home.
