Biographical / Historical
The Fort Wayne Orphans Home was founded in 1883 by three synods of the German Reformed Church. It also operated Woodhaven, a maternity home for teen-aged mothers, from 1959 to 1972. In the 1950's the home added the Crossroad program for emotionally troubled children, which continues to this day.
